Job Summary:
Experienced Police trainer with a background capable of instructing the following range of classes: Basic Police Training, instructor development, tactical training (to include a range of subjects), rapid reaction, crowd control, civil disorder management, tactical police response in high risk environments, cordons, basic administrative and personnel management/reform, organizational operations and planning, agency command and management, first line supervision, unarmed defensive tactics, basic patrol operations, high risk arrest, human rights, communications, standard operating procedures development, ethics/human rights, command and control, discipline, law enforcement intelligence gathering, physical fitness, Community Policing and security at crossing points.
Principal Accountabilities:
Medically and mentally fit to perform duties in a tropical environment. Extensive experience as a certified trainer in a police organization with strong classroom training skills. Prior police with in-theater experience, preferably in Haiti, Africa UN Mission, Iraq or Afghanistan. Prior military preferred in the US Marines as the HNP have a healthy respect for the US Marines. Ability to instruct and communicate effectively in front of large groups. Demonstrated ability at written reporting. Strong critical thinking skills and adaptability at problem solving with a high tolerance for limited supervision or direction.
Requirements:
This is a three month contract. It is estimated this person will be paid for 78 works days for the 3 months in mission. There is a possibility to extend after 90 days.
Demonstrated experience and ability at curriculum and instructor development and training organization development Experience in civil disorder management and training
Experience:
8 Years total Law Enforcement Experience, 5 years minimal as a full time sworn Peace Officer in a City, County or State Police Agency in the US (Prime CIVPOL Contract Requirement)
Experience in a civilian police Special Weapons response team (SWAT), and/or experience as a trainer in high risk police skills.
