On behalf of the United States Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, DynCorp International FZ-LLC (DIFZ) is seeking individuals with appropriate experience and expertise to participate in an international effort to re-establish police functions in post-conflict Iraq. Interested applicants must be active duty, retired, or recently separated sworn civilian police officers. US citizenship is required.
Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Applicant must have a combined total of eight (8) years work experience with at least five (5) years being at the position of sworn civilian law enforcement.
- Actively serving sworn civilian law enforcement officer (which excludes federal, military, and corrections), or no greater than a 9 year separation from last agency worked..
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Valid US driver's license and ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle.
- Unblemished background.
- Excellent health and be able to pass a law enforcement physical and physical agility evaluation.
- Valid U.S. passport will be required.
- We are seeking applicants with two years experience in specialized skills.
- Must be able to qualify with a 9mm semi-automatic hand gun.
Summary: Up to 1000 civilian police advisors may be deployed to Iraq to help the Iraqi citizens organize effective civilian law enforcement agencies.
Advisors will work with Iraqi criminal justice organizations at the national, provincial and municipal levels to assess threats to public order and mentor personnel at all levels of the Iraqi law enforcement system.
The Iraq mission is one-year contract. This is an armed, plainclothes mission. Compensation for the year is up to $134,110.08 plus free room and board. Medical benefits are provided for the employee. DynCorp International FZ-DIFZ provides all uniform and equipment needs. Transportation to the country, and a return flight upon successful completion of the one-year contract is provided.
All lodging, meals, and transportation, as well as logistical, technical and administrative support necessary to accomplish the advisor's mission is provided at no cost to the officer.

General Payroll Information:
- Salary is paid every four weeks.
- No federal income or social security taxes are withheld.
- Salary is available for foreign income tax exemption.
- Travel days to the US are counted toward the number of days spent in the US.
- Working hours - 12-hour days, 6 days a week.
Vacation Vacation is accrued at 4% of the hours worked, or approximately 2 weeks over the course of the assignment.
Accommodations Following an in-country orientation, DynCorp will house officers.
Uniform/Equipment DIFZ provides all uniform and equipment needs.

The DI Care Group Medical insurance provides you and your family a comprehensive medical coverage, and emergency medical evacuation services for you. Insurance coverage is provided by Cigna International Expatriate Benefits (CIEB)
Accidental Death and Disablement Insurance The DI Care Personal Accident Insurance provides you or your beneficiary with a monetary benefit in the event of accidental death or disablement. As an eligible employee, your accidental death and disablement insurance coverage begins on your first day of work. Maximum annual benefit is $250,000. DIFZ pays the full cost of this coverage.
Disability Coverage Coverage begins on your first day of work. DIFZ pays the full cost of this coverage.
Reimbursement DIFZ will reimburse each employed applicant for expenses incurred in obtaining medical examinations (upon approval), the cost to expedite your passport (not the basic passport cost), and postage/Fed-Ex delivery charges. Receipts must be provided.
