Warehouse Manager is responsible for all logistics support operations in support of a LOGCAP IV task order in Southern Afghanistan. The Warehouse Manager will have responsibility for consolidated warehouse operations. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring proper personnel and assets are in place to support specific SOW requirements and coordinating with the Contractor Support Office and the subcontracted warehouse operations manager to ensure the accurate receipt/storage of and fluid, flexible distribution of Army property, equipment and supplies. The Warehouse Manager will ensure all items are received and issued with and through DynMRO.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the warehouse facility, as well as the receipt and distribution of all material assets within the immediate AOR.
  • Assigns duties, instructs, and supervises subordinates in proper work techniques and procedures.
  • Plans and analyzes operational data and reports to ascertain degree of conformity with established policies, work standards, and procedural directives.
  • Supervises preparation of materiel control and accounting input for data processing and reviews output documents.
  • Inspects and evaluates inventory management activities.
  • Directs supply personnel in establishment and maintenance of supply and inventory control management functions.
  • Analyzes statistical data to determine effectiveness of technical edit. Reconciles problems in automated supply accounting system.
  • Computes, establishes, and directs modification to authorized stock levels. Plans and organizes receipt, issue, salvage and maintenance of records for all classes of supply except Class III (Bulk), Class V and Class VIII.
  • Ensures compliance with current regulations and directives pertaining to financial inventory, accounting, and stock funding.
  • Determines current and projected repair requirements.
  • Directs lateral redistribution of stock.
  • Prepares and updates warehouse layout plans.
  • Conducts inspection of activities to ensure compliance with standards of serviceability, reclamation, salvage, and disposal procedures.
  • Conducts warehousing surveillance and inspections.
  • Prepares reports on personnel and equipment availability, storage space, relocation of materiel, and warehouse denials.
  • Establishes issue schedules and procedures.
  • Perform needed training as required
  • Oversees the support needed for audits conducted pertinent to project controls.
  • Perform Special Projects as Needed

    Knowledge & Skills:

  • Skill and knowledge in analyzing and evaluating SARSS, STORES, and Defense Transportation System reports, quality control, and traffic management functions.
  • Knowledge and experience as a transportation liaison representative between the Army and other military services, commercial agencies, and host nation elements.
  • Familiarity with DOD transportation contracts.
  • Evaluation experience in site capability and limitation for depots, truck terminals, railheads, beachheads, air terminals, and water ports/terminals.
  • Past skills in organizing and supervising the movement, deployment and redeployment of personnel and equipment; both in an Army and joint environment.
  • Proven technical experience in the interpretation and use of transportation automation systems.
  • SARSS and/or WMS experience.
  • Army Quartermaster at the senior non-commissioned officer, CW3/4 Warrant Officer level


    Physical Requirements:

    Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.

    Experience:

    Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of Army logistics related knowledge and/or training. Experience must include at least two (2) years of OCONUS or management work. Skill and knowledge of asset management, ground transportation, and distribution administration are required. Cargo documentation and logistical movement control experience. Past supervisory experience in freight customs, receipt, storage and issue, Experience in an OCONUS Army environment is desired. A former Army Quartermaster Corps E-7 through E9 or 920B CW2-3 with SARSS experience or a Logistics Supervisor with LOGCAP III Warehouse Management experience is a plus.

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in a logistic or management discipline considered a plus, but not required
