Field/Instructor/Mechanic(FIM) - MRAP-AOR4 - Afghanistan

Job Summary:
MRAP FIM for Area of Operations (Iraq/Afghanistan/Kuwait)
National Agency Check Required (NAC-I) Required
Ability to satisfy a NAC-I Investigation / Clearance Required.
MRAP University Training Required OR minimum 1 year experience working in country on MRAP vehicles
Previous experience with MRAP FOV required
Land Systems Support (LSS) Has a requirement for Mine-Resistant Ambush Protective Vehicle (MRAP) Vehicle Maintenance FIM (FSR/Instructor/Mechanic).

Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required replacing worn or broken parts, electrical diagnosis of vehicle sub-systems such as central tire inflation system, ABS, diesel engines, HVAC systems, transmissions; fuel systems, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the FIM requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

    Physical Requirements:
    Work Environment will be austere; located in Iraq/Afghanistan/Kuwait

    Experience Required:
    5 years certified vehicle maintenance experience/training (Diesel Engine, Electrical Systems and AC Certified)
    OEM training preferred.

    Education:
    Bachelors Degree in Engineering or SAE Certified Diesel Engine and or 2 year Tec School Graduate
