Primary Title: Technical Writer Business Title: Proposal Writer Reports To: Vice President, Business Development Purpose of the Position: Provide support to Proposal Managers for preparation and publication of text in response to requirements written in requests for proposals (RFPs) for DynCorp International, LLC. Principal Responsibilities of the Position: A. Research, develop and write content for technical and management proposals in response to RFP, B. Answer questions and reply to clarification and deficiency requests in RFP. C. Edit, amend, revise existing and applicable text from previously written proposals as required and to the extent practical. D. Conceive graphic illustrations, charts, matrices, flow diagrams, and process flow charts for proposals that includes requests for graphic artists, write captions and introduce figures in text. E. Interface and coordinate details with proposal and production staffs. F. Prepare cross reference matrices. G. Support Business Development staff for suspenses established by Proposal Manager. H. Advise proposal manager for orientation or develop temporary writers. I. Assist proposal managers to prepare proposals for evaluation (pink team, red team, executive review, etc.) and for final packaging for delivery. J. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in related field can be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

Experience Required: Two (2) year experience in proposal preparation and analysis for government contractor. Special Knowledge/Skills Required: A. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) and related federal and state legislation and regulation. B. Knowledge of various word processing applications. C. Proficient in English language to apply rules of grammar and spelling.
