Job Title: Accountant
Summary of the Classification:
Prepare, analyze and process financial statements, budgets, customer invoices and monthly reports for DynCorp International LLC and/or Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
Principal Responsibilities of the Classification:
Performs many of the following responsibilities:
A. Responsible for contract invoices bi-weekly in accordance with contractual terms. B. Close monthly by analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries to include DI LLC home office allocations, calculating direct/indirect costs, rates and revenue recognition. C. Research and advise month-end statistical information to management concerning the accounting of complex transactions to ensure they comply with standards set forth by corporate, management, federal and state regulations. D. Evaluate general ledger accounts and other requirements to complete quarterly Controller’s Checklist. E. Advise management in preparation for the annual budget. F. Analyze contract performance to provide variances for bid, budget and forecast. G. Conduct cost, schedule, contract performance, variance and risk analysis, and proposal preparation for SBU. H. Support audit requests with data and analysis. I. Input year-end data into corporate’s annual tax package schedules. J. Prepare and analyze Financial Statements and Reports for upper management. K. Train/assist co-workers in software and information systems to support accounting functions. L. Audit accounts payable and payroll for accuracy. M. Lead team members for the business unit to provide work direction for accounting team members. N. Coordinate with the site staff to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other specific requirements. O. Prepare specialized reports and analyses. P. Develop and track cost implementation of actual to budget cost analysis and/or capitalize assets. Q. Obtain and maintain complete familiarity with segments of assigned contract including task orders, rate changes, and elements of allowable and non-allowable cost. R. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in an associated degree. Two (2) years experience in accounting may be substituted for each of the four (4) years of college.

Experience Required:
Two (2) years experience related to accounting. Prefer experience with government contract accounting. Special Knowledge/Skills Required:
A. Knowledge of accounting that includes spreadsheets and relational data base programs for data processing techniques. B. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. C. Excellent communication and people skills. D. Strong organizational ability. E. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). F. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work with little supervision, and work well under pressure. G. Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.
