Position Description
Summary of the Classification:
Directs the development strategies and programs for communications functions for Global Linguist Solutions (GLS)).
Principal Responsibilities of the Classification: Performs many of the following responsibilities:
A. Directs development and implements effective, comprehensive communication strategies, plans and materials for new business opportunities that follows the overall corporate approach and image.
B. Manages communications plans, strategies and material between remote locations and corporate headquarters.
C. Directs Business Development oral presentations and production of marketing brochures.
D. Functions as an expert for new business written or oral presentations.
E. Promotes awareness of the organization and products and/or services through a well-defined visual format.
F. Develops design package of proposal, including executive summaries, pre-determined proposal color palettes and page layout designs. Participates with proposal teams to develop key-message graphics and design approach for individual proposals.
G. Utilizes internal and external sources to determine best approach for communication material (i.e., oral, graphics or presentation).
H. Develops both traditional presentation techniques and when appropriate, the most-recent cutting edge strategies to meet specific business and contract goals.
I. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and other practices set forth by upper management.
J. Develops and implements new business communication strategy.
K. Develops executive speeches and outlines.
L. Assists and coaches staff with public speaking engagements and presentations.
M. Analyzes customer profiles and needs to identify desired approach for new-business written and oral presentations.
N. Researches and writes copy promotional materials.
O. Advises on preparation and presentation of product or services information for demonstrations, trade show, displays, exhibits and brochures.
P. Maintains database for publication and production support resources.
Q. Provides management guidance and control for the efficient utilization of human resources assignment, performance, morale, and overall welfare.
R. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years in a related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college. Master degree preferred.

Fifteen (15) years experience communications environment that includes five (5) years with computerized graphics and/or oral presentations. Prefer at least four (4) years in a managerial position.
Special Knowledge/Skills Required:
A. Complete understanding of proposal development to be delivered in a communication format.
B. Excellent written and oral communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
C. Demonstrates proficiency with desktop publishing software.
D. Demonstrate proficiency with graphic design, proposal layout, oral presentation, and product demonstration.
E. Knowledge of Department of Defense, U.S. Government structure and agency acquisition procedures and policies to understand potential customer.
F. Demonstrates ability to convey marketing message and concepts within customer provided parameters.
G. Excellent concept development and creative direction abilities for presentations.
H. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments and work well under pressure.
I. Able to travel when required.
J. Web design skills preferred.
