| Position Description |
Purpose of the Position:
Provide operational site management support to Global Linguistic Solutions (GLS) linguist operations supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Principal Responsibilities of the Position:
A. Ensure that all requirements are met. B. Conduct daily meetings with the military customers to ensure that all requirements, as defined in the Statement of Work, are met. C. Communicate new requirements, concerns, and issues to GLS Regional Headquarters for resolution. D. Provide input to reports. E. Provide administrative direction to GLS linguists in the Area of Operations. F. Coordinate with supported units and GLS departments for linguist scheduling and travel. G. Ensure that necessary linguist health, morale, and welfare requirements are met. H. Ensure that linguists adhere to GLS, Armed Forces and host nation standards of conduct concerning in-theater operations. I. Effectively manage any linguist management issues that may arise.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in a related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

A. Sound civilian management background. B. Excellent communications skills. C. Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. D. Outstanding problems solving skills and sound judgment. E. Strong interpersonal skills. F. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain SECRET security clearance. G. Willingness to travel and work in various locations in Iraq. H. Willingness to work shifts and extended hours in support of 24/7 operations. I. Highly flexible. J. Good physical condition. K. Must hold a U.S. passport. L. U.S. military experience desired. M. Thorough knowledge of cultural, economic, geopolitical, and military issues of the Mid East and Arab-speaking countries within that region desired. N. Previous experience managing linguists during Department of Defense operations desired.
