LG4 � Assistant Site Manager

Job Summary:

Provides leadership, management and support for Band 1 � 3 sites in support of DynCorp International�s LOGCAP IV.

Principal Accountabilities:

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs Duties as the Second Tier Manager in charge of the Assigned Site/Forward Operating Base for DynCorp International�s LOGCAP IV Project in Southern Afghanistan.
  • Will provide administrative and operational expertise to Departments, Section Managers and Supervisors.
  • The Assistant Manager will supervise the timely submission of United States Government mandated reports (e.g. CDRLS, Sitreps, and Dashboards etc.)
  • Will track Letters of Technical Direction, Change Orders (to include PPR/PPE) and Kick-Off Notices.
  • Manage the development and integration of evolving site functions and personnel.
  • Assists Site Manager with Customer Relationship Management and the institution of continuing improvement processes throughout the Site.
  • Ensures situational awareness is a top priority for all departments.
  • Assists with the development and execution of briefings and presentations, as required.
  • Orchestrates the weekly and monthly collaboration and collection of data for quality input to PEBs or AFEB boards.
  • Assist with the management of large numbers of skilled and semi-skilled foreign nationals.
  • Provided oversight assistance to sub-contract agreements with local companies providing labor, equipment and supplies.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee Department/Section Managers/Supervisors, providing leadership, management, guidance and support. Serves as Interim Site Manager during periods of non-availability.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be directed or assigned by the Site Manager, or the Regional Manager.
  • Provide administrative direction to LOGCAP IV employees in the Area of Operations.

    Management Responsibility:

    Oversee Department/Section Managers/Supervisors

    Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of military organizations and the Department of Defense essential.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team
  • U.S. military experience desired
  • Thorough knowledge of cultural, economic, geopolitical, and military issues of the Mid East and Arab-speaking countries within that region desired
  • Previous experience managing LOGCAP employees during Department of Defense operations desired

    Physical Requirements:

    Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.

    Experience:

  • Knowledge of US military operations and contracting support in a contingency environment.
  • Work experience in remote and austere environments desired.
  • Background in working with diverse cultures, as well as workers from various industries/trades highly desired.
  • Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
  • Advanced organizational skills, computer literacy, and demonstrated expertise of research methodologies.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make effective decisions.

    Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree and 5 years� experience desired; however, work experience and demonstrated performance in management position associated with a demanding environment (as described above), may replace a portion of, or the entire educational requirement.
