Position Description
DynCorp International is looking for a Deputy Fire Chief with a minimum of 10 years fire protection experience in an organization that provides crash, fire and rescue services and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in direct fire fighting operations as an Assistant Fire Chief. Knowledgeable of all functional areas in fire protection and be capable of directing fire suppression, rescue and other emergency incident operations. Administrative ability and be able to interpret fire protection technical and engineering publications, prepare written operation instructions, fire report and general correspondence. Ability to act for Fire Chief during his absence. Shall become familiar with applicable host nation and USAF environmental regulations. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and USAF safety directives and NFPA Standards. Physically capable of performing all duties required of the position. Physical standards of fire protection personnel shall equal or exceed physical profile of Federal Personnel Management X-118 standards as defined in AFI 48-123. Fire protection personnel shall not have physical defects which impede their ability to climb ladders, and do other strenuous tasks under adverse conditions. Pass annual physical that meets the requirements of NFPS 1582.
Required Skills
Shall be a high school graduate or equivalent. Fire protection personnel meet NDPA 1500 and AFI 32-2001, Attachment 2, recurring proficiency training. Fire chief, operations chiefs, and other senior fire fighters whose duties include incident command will attend the AETC Air Force On-AETC Air Force Scene Commanders course; MLMDC 813 Fire fighters maintain physical fitness IAW USAF 3E7X1standards. Must be proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English at a level necessary to perform job duties and tasks. Have or capable of obtaining U.S. Secret Clearance.
