LG4 Certified Crane Rigger

Job Summary:

The Certified Crane Rigger is responsible for inspecting, selecting, and configuring cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved and providing direction to the crane operator and rigging crew.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Directs crane riggers and operators in the areas of but not limited to performing inspections, operator level maintenance, selection and configuration of cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
  • Ensures that crew members and materials are hoisted and maneuvered in a safe and proficient manner by performing site surveys, task analysis, and critical lift calculations and when required, splices repairs and or replaces slings, wire rope and tackle.
  • Ensures that operator level maintenance on assigned crane and rigging components are performed.
  • Close interaction with the Military for the movement of materials.
  • Must be able to perform Site surveys, task analysis, critical lift calculations, operator level maintenance on assigned crane, rigging components and when required, splice and or repair slings, wire rope and tackle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of selection and configuration of equipment required to move loads according to weight and size.
  • Analytical skills to perform lift calculations.
  • Speak, read, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to work at heights.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs., bend, stoop, and have ability to work around equipment, materials, supplies and other items required to be handled.
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
  • Position is an extreme danger zone where physical and mental stresses are demanding.
  • Living is in camp style conditions and restroom/bath and cafeteria are shared.
  • Must work minimum extended hours 7 days a week for long periods of time.

    Experience:

  • 2 Years experience.

    Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified by an OSHA Accredited Organization and or recognized corporation.
