Awarded by the US Army, support requirements may be in the U.S. for troops preparing to deploy, or worldwide. Requirements focus on logistics and contingency skills and capabilities to support the Department of Defense, U.S. government inter-agencies, and non-governmental and coalition forces. While support is not limited to military operations, the immediate focus is on troops deployed to the Middle East. In September 2009, the State Department�s Bureau of African Affairs awarded AFRICAP. AFRICAP helps African countries conduct peacekeeping operations and build capacity for crisis management and counterterrorism. DI originally won this contract, previously called Africa Peacekeeping, in 2003. We have task orders in Liberia, Somalia, and Sudan: Liberia Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) DI was awarded a task order to provide operations and maintenance support for Armed Forces of Liberia facilities at Edward B. Kesselly Barracks and Camp Ware in Liberia, including electrical power generation, water supply, waste disposal, and vehicle maintenance. Somalia Peacekeeping DI provides logistical sustainment for participating countries in the African Union Peacekeeping Mission to Somalia (AMISOM). The team is based in Kampala, Uganda and Mogadishu, Somalia. They coordinate multiple sustainment flights from Kampala to Mogadishu each month. *Sudan AEC (Assessment and Evaluation Commission) The AEC monitors compliance with the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that was signed by the government of Sudan and the Sudan People�s Liberation Movement/Army in January 2005. The U.S. provides financial support for the AEC. Partners include Norway, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK.
